About HTC Vive

Headset

Chaperone guidance system keeps you safely within the bounds of your play area. Headset features 110 degrees view, 32 sensors for accurate detection, 2160X1200 resolution, and interchangeable foam inserts for a custom fit. The headset works with most eyeglasses.

Dual Controllers

HD haptic feedback and intuitive gestures mean playing games and interacting with the virtual world comes naturally. Vive’s two wireless controllers feature 24 sensors for unobstructed movement, meaning you can do more in VR than ever before. Also features multi-function track pads and duel stage triggers on both controllers.

Base Station

You get 360˚ motion tracking with Vive thanks to breakthrough base station technology that helps the headset and controllers track their exact location in space. Freely explore and interact with the virtual world in stunning quality. Room-scale VR puts you at the center of everything for an experience you soon won’t forget.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that many people are new to VR and we are happy to address any questions or concerns you may have.  We’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions below but if you have any additional questions you can email us at Tukwila@virtualsports.net or call at (425) 970-1330.

Am I going to walk into walls?

Highly unlikely.  Thanks mostly to HTC’s incredible Chaperone system, you will have a very good sense of where you are located in real space while playing the VR content.  Should you approach any walls, other people, chairs, etc. in the VR station, the Chaperone system will project a blue hologram of that obstacle inside the game.  Yes – this sounds like science fiction, but we ensure you it is now science fact.

How old do I need to be?

We do not have a recommended age but from our experience we recommend the player be at least 40″ tall

Can I wear glasses?

The HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) features slots to allow the average pair of eyewear to fit inside while using the system.  The Vive also features adjustment knobs to configure the focus for each eye independently, and a separate adjustment knob to match the screen separation to that of your eyes!

Is there a chance I could get motion sickness/side effects from using it?

As with any motion-related entertainment, some people may be susceptible to unexpected side-effects during the VR session. Should you feel uneasy at any point, we ask that you stop the VR session and inform a staff member promptly

Are there any physical limitations that would prevent me from using the Vive?

The optimal VR experience requires users to move their head and neck, and have use of at least one hand to interact with the environment.  We can accommodate most skill, mobility and cognitive levels for a range of guests, and our facility and all VR stations are wheelchair accessible. However, be sure to consult your doctor before using visiting if you have pre-existing serious medical conditions (such as a heart ailment), conditions that affect your ability to safely perform physical activities, psychiatric conditions (such as anxiety disorders or post-traumatic stress disorder), or if you are pregnant or elderly. You should avoid visiting Virtual Sports if you are sick, fatigued, under the influence of intoxicants/drugs, or are not feeling generally well, as it may exacerbate your condition.

Is signing a waiver required?
